Autograph letter signed, dated : [Leipzig], 15 September 1876, to an unidentified conductor in Frankfurt, 1876 Sept. 15.

Saying that he leaves in two days and will be in Kassel with his fiancée [Marie Haupt] by the end of the month, that her contract lasts until August 1877, that [Baron von und zu] Gilsa has engaged a young woman who has learned all the roles and that nothing stands in the way of his fiancée's departure, that he is would be delighted to make guest appearances and that even [Richard] Wagner will not object, that he will sing through all his major roles for Prof. [Julius] Hey in Munich, that he will visit Frankfurt soon with his fiancée--for whom a position might be found in time--, that he wants above all a long-term engagement, adding that he can find work in Leipzig but that conditions are at the moment pitiful owing to mediocrity, etc.
